Job duties: Work with a team to develop intelligent solutions for next generation welding robots. Develop software applications with focus on analyzing and extracting actionable information on welding related data. Use existing machine learning algorithms and developing custom ones tailored specifically to Lincoln Electric interested areas such as robotic welding, predictive maintenance, interactive learning, etc. Interface with other departments and identify potential areas where operations can be optimized using machine learning tools. Track machine learning models performance. Frequently report on milestones and use of version control software. Design software architecture.
Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2 years of experience as a Software Engineering Intern, Application Engineer Intern, or related. Must have 2 years of experience with robotic welding, including: 1 year of experience with Machine Learning Algorithms using Python and scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, and SciPy packages; digital communications including SPI and Ethernet UDP messaging; managing multiple actions on 1-4 active projects using Agile methodology; and communicating and presenting Machine Learning topics to upper management and customers involving Machine Learning algorithms applied to welding data.
