Job Title: Product Photographer and Online Listing Creator (Independent Contractor)

Location: Evansville, Indiana

Hourly Rate:  $10–$15 per hour

Potential: Long-term contract

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Product Photographer with a proven track record of creating e-commerce listings to join our team as an independent contractor. 

This role involves photographing products to showcase their best features and creating compelling, optimized listings for e-commerce platforms. 

The ideal candidate will have expertise in product photography techniques, experience posting items on e-commerce sites, and access to professional-level photography tools. This flexible position offers the opportunity for an ongoing, long-term contract.

Job Requirements

Required Equipment

• A reliable laptop.
• A high-resolution camera phone (12 MP or higher recommended).
• Access to high-speed internet.
• Transportation to and from the work location.

Required Skills

Product Photography:

• Knowledge of basic product photography concepts (lighting, composition, focus, and angles).
• Ability to highlight product details and condition clearly in images.
• Familiarity with creating clean, clutter-free backgrounds, especially white ones.

E-Commerce Listing:

• Experience creating and managing Excel documents and G-Drive image repositories.
• Experience creating and managing listings on e-commerce platforms (e.g., eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or similar).
• Knowledge of e-commerce requirements, such as: 
  • Writing clear, concise, and keyword-optimized product titles and descriptions.
  • Proper categorization of items.
  • Uploading and arranging photos in the correct order.
  • Basic understanding of pricing strategies for pre-loved goods.

Photo Editing:

• Basic skills in editing tools (e.g., Snapseed, Lightroom) to adjust lighting, remove background noise, or enhance image quality.

Organizational Skills:

• Detail-oriented, ensuring all items are photographed and listed accurately.
• Ability to handle multiple listings efficiently without errors.
• Ability to create and follow accurate SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

Time Management:

• Ability to meet deadlines for photographing and listing items.
• Flexible schedule to manage workflow based on inventory volume.

Communication Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication to provide updates on progress.
• Open to receiving and implementing feedback.

Location Requirement

• Must be based in or near Evansville, Indiana, to access items for photography and listing.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional but a Plus)

• Previous experience in online selling or a similar e-commerce role.
• Familiarity with SEO principles for enhancing product visibility.
