Job Summary:

To perform journeyman level skills in the installation, maintenance, remodeling, repair and servicing of plumbing system, and utilities in a mechanisms utility distribution center. Responsible for me prompt performance of assignment plumbing and related duties and mechanism maintenance and repair of utility mains.

Essential Duties:

• Install, repair and maintain water, air, gas and sewer lines and systems.
• Install plumbing pipes, traps, washbowls, fittings, drains, special laboratory sinks, drain tables and experimental tables.
• Repair, replace and maintain valves, faucets, water heaters, traps, sinks, washbowls, sewers, vents and toilet fixtures.
• Cut and thread pipe and wipe lead joints.
• Connect and maintain hot water units, gas heaters and furnaces and check for safety. Unstop clogged lines.
• Maintain radiators, radiator traps, and thermostatic line traps.
• Perform acetylene and electric welding for construction and maintenance of pipelines.
• Assist with simple estimates of time and materials required for a job.
• Drive a UTA owned vehicle.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma.
• Three (3) years experience.
• Three (3) years of skilled/journeyman level plumbing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid Texas Operator's License required.
• Accuracy in phases of work performed.
