Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse CWR 
Location: Edison, NJ (Postal Code: 08818) [ONSITE ROLE]
Duration: 3 Months

Hours Per Week: 36.00
Shift: 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM, Monday-Friday
Schedule Notes: No weekends, no holidays, at least 3 on-call shifts per month

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) - OR CWR is primarily responsible for applying the nursing process to the care of veteran patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. This role includes ensuring appropriate documentation reflects assessment of patient needs, interdisciplinary treatment plans, clinical interventions, and evaluation of patients' responses to treatments. The RN will also assign and evaluate the work of non-nursing direct care providers assigned to the operating room.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply the nursing process to the care of patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Ensure documentation accurately reflects patient assessments, treatment plans, clinical interventions, and patient responses.
• Assign and evaluate the work of non-nursing direct care providers in the operating room.
• Provide care in specialties including Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Robotic, or Endovascular Surgery.
• Scrub and circulate as needed during surgical procedures.
• Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio. Use Epic for documentation (preferred).
• Be available to work all days except those pre-disclosed prior to offer.
• Ensure work schedule is a priority with no conflicts from alternative jobs.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of OR RN experience in at least one of the following specialties: Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Robotic, or Endovascular Surgery.
• Scrub and circulating experience.
• BLS (AHA) certification.
• Highly reliable and available for all required shifts.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• CNOR certification.
• Experience with Epic documentation.
• Experience in all four specialties: Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Robotic, and Endovascular Surgery.

Education Requirements:

• ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) required.
• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred.

Certifications & Licensure:

• BLS (AHA) required.
• NIHSS certification.
• NJ State or compact RN license.

Language Requirements: English (Speak, Read, Write)
