Are you passionate about mortgage underwriting and ready to join a dynamic, fast-growing team? We are seeking a Mortgage Loan Underwriter to become a valuable member of our team. In this role, you'll use established Conventional, Jumbo, and Government underwriting guidelines to evaluate borrower financial and credit information, alongside property valuations, to make informed lending decisions. You'll collaborate closely with our production team to ensure smooth loan processing and successful closings.

Key Responsibilities:

- Underwrite and make decisions on agency conforming, Jumbo, FHA/VA residential mortgage loans.
- Verify and analyze all necessary financial information and documentation; ensure completeness of loan files with all required credit and legal documents.
- Review appraisal reports to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Conduct thorough analysis of applicants' income, expense data, asset documentation, credit reports, and property valuations to confirm loan qualification.
- Calculate qualifying ratios, assess creditworthiness, and provide risk assessments.

Qualifications:

- Proficiency in underwriting VA, FHA, Conventional, and Jumbo loans.
- At least 4 years of underwriting experience.
- Experience with FNMA, FHLMC, and Non-Conforming mortgages is a plus.
- Familiarity with Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector/Loan Product Advisor (LP/LPA).
- Strong understanding of the mortgage lending process.
- Ability to perform essential loan calculations (DTI, LTV, etc.).
- Skilled in preparing comprehensive findings reports.
- Capable of managing multiple files simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to thrive in a team environment and seek continuous growth.
