Medical Secretary/Technician Needed We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team of professionals. The ideal person must be able to work with our large base of patients by delivering quality care along with outstanding and friendly service. You must be able to assist patients with pre-exam testing.
No Experience Required Prior healthcare or medical office experience is a plus, but it’s certainly not required. We offer paid training to the right person with a great attitude, a helpful heart and a love of learning!
Job Responsibilities Taking the patient back to the exam room and verifying their medical history.
Inform patients of the purpose of all tests personally performed and how they will be affected during the tests.
Spending 15 minutes with each patient before the doctor comes in, performing duties such as measuring retinal function, peripheral vision, retinal thickness; and taking retinal photographs.
“Refracting” the patient, which means starting the process of finding the patient’s eyeglass prescription before the doctor comes in to refine it.
Taking notes for the doctor during the patient’s exam.
Ordering proper tests based on the doctor’s diagnosis.
Properly coding procedures.
