We operate North Asheville and South Asheville locations and a catering department. We are locally and independently owned, food quality driven, and well known for our fun and eclectic work environments and memorable guest experiences. We are looking for qualified hospitality professionals like yourself to help us continue to grow and add new stores in the Asheville area!

We are hiring for part-time and full-time servers at our North Asheville location. Hours may fluctuate based on the needs of the business.

SUMMARY

The server is responsible for providing our guests with fast, friendly hospitality. Luella's offers counter service, however, the server also assists with making recommendations, suggesting food pairings and spending the whole duration of the meal with guests.

• Prepares the tables, making sure condiments are refilled and performing all other preparation tasks
• Stays updated on current menu choices and specials
• Suggests dishes, assists in drink selection, informs customers about food preparation details, and communicates specific customer needs to the cooks
• Maintains proper dining experience, delivers food and drink items, fulfills customer needs, offers desserts and drinks, removes courses, replenishes utensils and refills glasses
• Prepares mixed drinks
• Obtains revenues, issues receipts, accepts payments, and returns customer change
• Performs basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by MOD
• Fills in for absent staff as needed
• Assists with special events as needed
• Greet all guests and owners warmly and with an appropriate greeting
• Adheres to grooming and appearance standards consistently
• Understands and clearly communicates products and services available at the restaurant
• Must have some familiarity with basic cooking skills
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will possess at least 90% of the following:

• A natural surplus of hospitality extended to guests, employees and vendors no matter the circumstances
• An unusually attentive focus on details and a compulsive desire to make even the smallest details perfect
• Above all, a desire to be the best
• Excellent communication skills required
• Previous server experience is required
• Must be at least 18 years old

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee is required to be on feet for a large portion of the day/shift. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, or crouch; reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel tools or controls; must be able to lift and /or move heavy objects including tables and cases of food and beverage; must be able to lift approximately 20 pounds overhead

• Must be able to sustain constant mental and visual attention

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Dining room environment
• Kitchen environment, including hot areas, hot tools, hot plates, sharp knives and tools
• Flexible schedule can vary from week to week; work required on weekends and holidays
