Are you a skilled Mortgage Loan Underwriter looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking full-time DE Underwriters to work remotely from anywhere across the nation.

Position Overview:

As a Mortgage Loan Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and approving mortgage applications. You will ensure that each loan meets all program requirements before it's approved for funding. Your responsibilities will include communicating credit decisions clearly and maintaining high standards of fairness and quality in lending practices.

What You'll Do:

- Review loan applications for accuracy, including income, collateral, and creditworthiness, in line with program and product guidelines.
- Meet or exceed monthly production and quality goals.
- Stay up-to-date with corporate, investor, and regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate credit decisions and document requirements to relevant team members.
- Keep detailed records of credit risk activities.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

- 5+ years of experience underwriting residential mortgage loans.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

- Experience reviewing appraisals and knowledge of USPAP and agency guidelines.
- Strong manual and automated underwriting skills.
- Ability to underwrite according to FNMA/FHLMC standards.
- Proficient in reviewing and calculating income from complex tax returns.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Highly motivated with a proactive approach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
