Job Description

Position: Commissary Agent (Aircraft Catering Agent)

General Purpose of Job: This position is responsible for preparing and delivering aircraft catering carts/bins and on-board amenities as needed by the airline for all scheduled flights.

Duties:

  • Operate heavy, motorized machinery/equipment including, but not limited to commissary trucks, tugs, tractors, belt loaders, bag carts, forklift, push-back tractors, deicers, etc.
  • Deliver stocked catering carts and bins to aircraft and remove empty carts/bins from aircraft.
  • Build aircraft service carts with supplies for all Allegiant flights (Charters and Scheduled Service).
  • for courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of food and goods, including loading and unloading.
  • Handle ice and inventory supplies.
  • Enforce safety/security measures and monitor safety sensitive areas per regulatory requirements.
  • Sanitize equipment and carts. Perform routine cleaning of commissary area.
  • Perform security search of carts, vehicles, and aircraft.
  • Inventory supplies and complete necessary reports and forms
  • Receive delivery from vendors.
  • Assists with loading and unloading of aircraft.
  • Use of company provided personal protective gear will be required while working in this role
  • Interacts with airline representatives at the aircraft in a professional manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all our customers.
  • Ensures FAA, Airline, and airport regulations are followed.
  • Enforces safety/security measures and protects sensitive zones.
  • Other duties as assigned by the base supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have valid Driver's license
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Regular attendance is a requirement of the role.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to push/pull/lift 100 lbs. for extended periods of time
  • Ability to read and write English; bilingual skills a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints
  • Must be available to work varied hours including swing and graveyard shifts plus weekends and holidays
  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, must be able to regularly stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and use hands and fingers to operate various types of tools and equipment (i.e. hand trucks, carts, ramps, tugs, etc.). May be required to lift and/or carry up to 100 lbs. and to push and/or pull up to 300 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Exposure to heights, small spaces, extreme noise (i.e. airport with planes, vehicles, and other machinery), temperature, wind, and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to crawl in and out of small spaces for extended periods of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.

Work Environment: Airport environment: Indoors and Outdoors. Extreme outdoor conditions where extreme temperature ranges may be encountered.
